My freshman year I began volunteering for a wildlife conservation genetics lab on campus before being hired as the only undergraduate employee. For the past few years, I've loved working there every week on a variety of projects centered around urban carnivore health, specifically coyotes. Typically I am in the genetics lab in Blodel Hall, usually extracting DNA from coyote scat samples. During the summers I collect coyote and river otter scat. Once a week I have the honor to dissect coyotes and river otters in the Burke Museum!
