I loved this class! I learned so much about the environmental and human history of where I am going to school. From visiting the Duwamish longhouse to YES! Farms, we had as many field trips as we had days in the classroom. I learned a lot about Indigenous injustice in America today, and is Seattle specifically.
One of my favorite projects (below), was finding old photos of UW (these are from the early 1900s) and taking a photo from the same vantage point today.

My final project for the class was a group project on the queer history of Seattle. My contribution to the project was a watercolor painting created based on descriptions and photos of different gay bars throughout Seattle's history. The pride parade through the center of the painting is based off of real photos and moves through time chronologically, representing the 1800s at the foreground and present day in the background with the Smith Tower.
